You are so beautiful to me!

To follow-up on 1 Timothy 2:9-15 before embarking on a study of qualifications necessary to lead and serve in the church (Chapter 3), I wanted to say my model for a godly woman resides in my own house. Everything that Paul wanted a woman to do and be is embodied in my wife. She is beautiful and always “dressed to the nines,” but more careful to properly adorn the gospel of Christ. She has many good things to say, most of which bubbling up from hours of Bible study, yet she knows the time and place to say them. She is constantly teaching, encouraging, proclaiming and admonishing with God’s word, on far more occasions than Sunday morning in a room full of people. Where would we all be without all the keen insight dispensed by godly women in the church and home? Finally, she has positioned herself squarely in the will of God since the day I married her, persisting in “faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.” These traits are the essence of true beauty, and they are powerfully used in God’s hands.
