Bold Obedient Faith–Romans 1:8-15

Bold obedient faith cannot be contained.

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world. Romans 1:8

It’s admired abroad, and serves as inspiration to other believers. Yet it draws certain fire.

But we desire to hear from you what your views are; for concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere. Acts 28:22

Knowing this, Paul wanted to be on the scene to impart whatever spiritual gift he had that would bolster their faith.

For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established. Romans 1:11

These saints were in Rome, and we all know what most do when in a Rome! In the meantime, the Roman church was on the top of Paul’s crowded prayer list.

No matter how great a player you are you still need a coach, because everyone’s gunning for you. It’s no different here. Paul wanted to instruct the Romans in person “to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.” (Romans 16:19)

This letter was to tide them over.
