What’s Got Into Me?

And He did not let him, but He said to him, “Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed. Mark 5:19–20

What does the Lord want you to share about your salvation? Two things. What great things he’s done for you, and what mercy he’s shown you. These are the common threads in everyone’s testimony; grace and mercy.

Further, you won’t have to be well-versed in apologetics to share your story. Who will argue with what’s happened to you? What’s more, when you start with those who know you well, the differences should be stark and your credibility at its highest. Everyone in Decapolis knew of this man’s tormented condition. What great things were done for him! What great mercy was shown to him! They could see the change, and his account was necessary for them to know who was responsible.

We need to share firsthand the “what’s got into us” with others. It’s always going to be like the blind man’s encounter with Jesus. I was blind and now I see! (John 9:25)
