This is the Lord’s Doing

And they were seeking to seize Him, and yet they feared the people, for they understood that He spoke the parable against them. And so they left Him and went away. Mark 12:12

The chief priests and scribes had a huge political problem. Jesus was confounding them with his speeches and riding a huge wave of popularity with the people. He fully understood what was happening and his fate, but it had to be this way. He’d win out in the end, but the process would be agonizing.

Satan continues to try to snuff out the saving power of Christ, sending salvo after salvo against Christianity, but to no avail. It’s corner stone after all is Jesus, and the edifice of truth and life cannot be penetrated or compromised.

The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:22-24
